REIA Of Oakland ADVANCED SUBGROUP MEETING This Wednesday January 23, 2013

Please attend our Advanced Work Group - coming up on Wednesday January 23rd at Hogan's. Don't skip coming because you think that we are limited for space - there is a larger room available when we outgrow the one we have been using!!

Topics for discussion will include:
  • What realtors need to know about investors, how to work with them, how not to waste each others time.
  • What investors should know about realtors, how best to work together most efficiently?
  • Advantages and disadvantages of working with new vs. experienced realty agents, realtors and brokers.
  • New Deal Sourcing - where besides the MLS should we be looking? Detailed formula for bird dogging, to help new wholesalers identify the good ones without knowing all the neighborhood.
  • What is your expertise with construction/rehab, what is your weakness?
  • What burning info or question would most likely benefit you with your current projects?

We will also keep the prior months questions on a single, continuous list, and have a Q & A part of the evening, where attendees can address/ask questions about topics addressed in prior meetings.

As started last meeting, the last half-hour of the meeting will be devoted to reviewing and working together on worksheets for evaluating rehab projects. There is a one-page deal evaluation sheet and a lengthy multi-page 'per square foot cost estimate form. We will continue this discussion - we plan to use the last part of each meeting (and the time between meetings) going forward to collect comments and improve these documents on an ongoing basis.
